Now, onto today’s issue.

Welcome to Adventure Fix, the newsletter that helps you discover extraordinary journeys and experiences across the globe.

Today we are heading to Luang Prabang, Laos to…

Explore some of the country’s hidden trails on motorcycles.

Beyond the major towns, Laos is a rugged place that’s scattered with farm paths, mountain trails, and dirt tracts, making it an adventure rider’s dream.

Landscapes in Laos are like scenes out of Jurassic Park. Lush jungle and leafy peaks dominate this all too underrated country.

It’s not developed like Thailand and not as touristy as Vietnam, so riding through Laos feels like discovering new lands.

Motorcycling gives you the chance to get a glimpse deep into the countryside as you ride backroads and hidden valleys stopping off to visit hillside villages.

The best off-road and enduro riding the country has to offer is in the north. Many tours and rides base themselves in Luang Prabang and head out into the many jungle trails from there.

Gnarly is the best word to describe the roads. The plenty of stream crossings, slippery dust roads, and wet root-ridden jungle tracks will challenge your skills and keep you on your toes.

How To Motorcycle Northern Laos

The city of Luang Prabang is the gateway for exploring Northern Laos by motorcycle.

If you have your bike, you can ride solo but be careful if you venture off on your own. Laos is the most bombed nation in the world. Removing these bombs is still an ongoing project in Laos so be sure to get some local knowledge before riding off-road.

If you don’t have a bike in Laos, renting one and going on an organized trip is also an option. Some great companies are Lao ADV, ORLA Tours, and MotoAsia.

History buffs might enjoy routes that follow secret war trails and the Lima sites.

We hope your travels take you in this direction very soon.

Until then - keep exploring!

Amanda
