UNIQUE EXPERIENCES

Parahawking in Nepal

Head to Nepal’s Pokhara Valley for an unforgettable aerial adventure: parahawking.

This one-of-a-kind experience combines the thrill of paragliding with the incredible connection of flying alongside majestic birds of prey.

Imagine soaring through the sky with the towering peaks of the Annapurna range as your backdrop, while a trained bird of prey glides effortlessly next to you, occasionally landing on your gloved hand to grab a snack.

What makes parahawking even more special is its focus on conservation.

Many of the birds you’ll encounter have been rescued and rehabilitated, giving you the chance to connect with these incredible creatures while supporting a good cause.

Even better, a portion of the profits goes directly toward protecting Nepal’s endangered vultures, helping to ensure their survival for generations to come.

MIGRATIONS

Porcupine River Caribou Herd Migration

The Porcupine River caribou herd’s migration is one of nature’s greatest journeys.

Every year, over 200,000 caribou travel more than 1,500 miles through Alaska and Canada, from the boreal forests to the Arctic coastal plain.

These northern calving grounds are crucial, providing food and safety for mothers and newborns during the short Arctic summer.

For Indigenous groups like the Gwich’in and Inupiat, the caribou are more than wildlife—they’re central to their culture, survival, and traditions.

Protecting the herd and its habitat, especially the calving grounds they call “The Sacred Place Where Life Begins,” has long been a priority.

If you want to witness this incredible migration up close, staying at the Arctic Caribou Migration Base Camp is an unforgettable way to experience it.

Set up in the heart of the caribou’s range, this camp gives you a front-row seat to one of nature’s greatest spectacles.

You’ll spend days exploring the breathtaking tundra, watching the caribou move in rhythm with their ancient instincts, and soaking in the stillness of the Arctic wilderness.

The Chachapoyas-Gran Vilaya Trek is a 4-day adventure that takes you deep into Peru's cloud forests.

The journey begins with visits to the Quiocta Cavern and the cliffside sarcophagi of Karajía, offering a glimpse into the Chachapoya civilization's unique burial traditions.

As you continue, the trail winds through lush cloud forests along ancient pre-Hispanic paths.

Hidden archaeological sites like La Pirquilla reveal remnants of the Chachapoya culture, and in the small village of Congón, you’ll meet local families and enjoy the region’s famous organic coffee.

As the journey progresses, you'll explore the mysterious ruins of Lanche and take in stunning views from the Yumal Pass, perched at 3,200 meters above sea level.

The final highlight is the impressive Kuelap Fortress, an ancient marvel of the Chachapoya culture.

With its towering walls and intricate design, this site offers a fascinating window into Peru’s history before the trek concludes back in Chachapoyas.
