HIKING
Hiking to the Floating Monasteries of Meteora
Picture this: massive, otherworldly rock formations rising out of nowhere, with ancient monasteries somehow perched on top like they’re defying gravity.
Meteora is a place in northwestern Greece where nature and history collide in the coolest way possible.
One of the best routes starts right in the town of Kalambaka and winds its way up to the Holy Trinity Monastery.
Along the way, you’ll wander through lush forests, climb rocky paths, and stumble upon jaw-dropping viewpoints that make you stop and go, “Wow.”
You’ll also pass by some ancient caves where monks used to live—it’s wild to think about people actually living in those little nooks carved into the rock.
If you really want to get the most out of it, you can join a guided hike. The local guides are full of amazing stories about the history of the monasteries, the legends of the area, and even the crazy geology behind these insane rock formations.
And trust me, you have to hike around sunset.
The way the light hits those cliffs and turns everything golden—it’s magical.
Whether you’re in it for the views, the history, or just the peace and quiet, hiking in Meteora is something you’ll be talking about long after you’ve left.

TOGETHER WITH TRADE COFFEE
Say Goodbye to Boring Coffee
Like many, my mornings started with bland grocery store coffee. Then Trade changed everything by connecting me with a curated selection of roasts perfectly matched to my tastes, crafted by passionate small-batch roasters.
I took a quick quiz, and now I enjoy unique, freshly roasted coffees delivered straight to my door. Not only do they taste better than what I was buying before, but supporting local artisans makes me feel great about the money I’m spending on coffee each week.
Plus, Trade is offering Adventure Fix readers an exclusive 30% off their first subscription when you sign up today. Trust us, you deserve the upgrade. Our only regret—not finding them sooner!
REMOTE PLACES
Emi Koussi
Emi Koussi, the highest peak in the Sahara Desert at 11,204 feet (3,415 meters), offers one of the most spectacular trekking experiences in the region.
This seven-day adventure starts from the Medounga Ennerí, with a route that takes you through stunning canyons, lush gueltas, small oases, and remote villages.
The journey is supported by a caravan of camels and Tubu guides.
Highlights include the vast Erra Kohor caldera, the dramatic Yi Yerra gorges, and a surprise: natural hot springs at the end of the descent.
The hike is far from the beaten path, weaving through the Tibesti Mountains' extreme and awe-inspiring landscapes.
Along the way, you'll find ancient ignimbrite formations, rock art dating back to the Middle Holocene, and breathtaking views of the Sahara and the Tibesti range.
The crossing of the Erra Kohor caldera, exploring the small Trou au Natron, and scaling the summit ridge make this journey a true adventure for seasoned trekkers.

NATIONAL PARKS
Kaieteur National Park
Kaieteur National Park, deep in Guyana’s rainforest, feels almost unreal. Its star attraction, Kaieteur Falls, plunges 740 feet in a single drop—five times taller than Niagara Falls.
Remote and untouched, it’s just you, the roar of the falls, and the jungle mist.
The park is alive with rare wildlife like tiny golden rocket frogs and the bright orange Guianan cock-of-the-rock.
Getting there is an adventure—either by small plane or trekking 5 days through the jungle—but the reward is unforgettable.
Kaieteur is pure, wild beauty you’ll never forget.
