REMOTE PLACES
Ascension Island
If remote and obscure island destinations like Pitcairn Island and Tristan da Cunha are your thing, here’s another one to add to your travel list: Ascension Island.
This tiny island in the middle of South Atlantic Ocean is separated from Africa and South America by a vast expanse of water.
Raw nature with no crowds is what draws visitors to Ascension. The landscape is dominated by extinct volcanic cones, a dramatic coastline, and some beautiful beaches, making the place ideal for hiking and diving.
Getting to Ascension is no easy task. Your options are to take a charter flight from St. Helena via South Africa, sail there on your sailboat, or join an expedition cruise.

Trekking the Fann Mountains
When it comes to trekking in Tajikistan, most travelers head to the Pamir Mountains, overlooking another prime hiking destination - the Fann Mountains.
Tucked away in western Tajikistan, the Fann Mountains are packed with rugged peaks, dramatic river valleys, mountain villages, and vibrant green and blue alpine lakes.
A trip to this part of the world can easily be combined with visiting the legendary Silk Road cities of Tashkent, Samarkand, and Bukhara.

FILMS
Wild South
This 52-minute wildlife documentary transports you to the southernmost tip of Africa, where the warm Indian Ocean meets the icy Atlantic.
This confluence has shaped not only the coastline but also the continent's distant hinterland. In this harsh environment, life thrives in remarkable ways.
The landscape is defined by canyons, limestone valleys, and vast deserts. Some salt pans here are as large as small countries, and gigantic rocks abruptly rise from the ground. Unusual trees emerge from among the rocks, creating otherworldly, yet captivating, sceneries.
With its vibrant colors, sounds, and captivating images, this region is home to some of Africa’s most stunning vistas.
