From wind-swept outer islands to serene inner waters, the Broughton Archipelago is a playground of exploration.
With the majestic snowcapped Coast Mountains gracing the eastern horizon, the setting is truly breathtaking.
Stand-up paddleboards (SUPs) are the perfect choice for navigating through the labyrinth of islands and intricate channels in this particular area of Canada. This is mainly because the most captivating areas are too shallow for motorized boats.
Here, every day is a new adventure as you use the tides and currents to make your way through this beautiful landscape.
Apart from the spectacular scenery, paddlers are drawn to the Broughton Archipelago because it is a mecca for wildlife.
Resident Orcas begin showing up towards the end of June and feeding Humpbacks make their way into the area in April and May.
Harbour Seals, Sea Lions, River Otters, Bald Eagles, and wandering Black and Grizzly Bears are all part of this incredible rainforest ecosystem.

How Visit the Broughton Archipelago on Paddle Boards
Experienced paddlers who are looking for a challenge could attempt this expedition on their own but be prepared for long open water crossings, confusing tide patterns, and no fresh water.
The more accessible option is to go on a guided tour. These tours typically leave from Telegraph Cove.
Tours include a guide and the option to rent equipment. Paddlers should have ocean touring experience and a solid technical skill set.
If you don’t have the experience or skills needed to tackle this expedition, consider taking a touring and overnight skills course.
We hope your travels take you in this direction very soon.
Until then - keep exploring!
